Million Dollar Grant Awarded for Monon Trail Construction
The City of Westfield has received a $1 million grant from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The money will be used on Monon Trail construction. INDOT will make the funds available for distribution in 2013.

Westfield, IN – Westfield Parks Director Melody Jones announced that the City of Westfield is the recipient of a $1,096,667 transportation grant from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The grant money will be used specifically for Monon Trail Construction from SR 32 north to 191st Street in Westfield. INDOT will make the funds available for distribution in 2013.
"I am thrilled about FHWA's decision to award Westfield the grant to further the Monon Trail Construction through Westfield, says Jones. These are much needed funds and another step toward getting complete Monon connectivity in Westfield."
Westfield City Officials will be meeting with INDOT district representatives to schedule coordination meetings for the project and a request will be made to the Metropolitan Planning Organization that the project be amended into the Transportation Improvement Program.
