Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has not officially scheduled floor debate and has indicated the chamber may not be able to pass any proposal before the end of the year. Clarian Health President and Chief Executive Officer Dan Evans says the House-approved bill and a Senate proposal both contain a multi-billion dollar annual income tax on medical device manufacturers, which could have serious impacts on Indiana companies such as Zimmer Holdings Inc. (NYSE: ZMH) and Cook Group Inc., as well as prices at health care providers.
