INDIANAPOLIS – Lt. Governor Becky Skillman today announced that 14 communities will receive grants to assist with Homeowner Repair and Improvement (HRI) activities for homeowners in need of minor homes repairs. The federally funded grants, totaling over $1,702,750, will assist 87 households throughout rural communities.
“We are fortunate to partner with these cities and towns to ensure safety, improve the current housing stock, and sustain the long-term quality of life of residents across Indiana,” said Lt. Governor Skillman, who oversees the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority. “These repairs help homeowners preserve the value of their property and remain in their community of choice.”
The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) allocates Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for housing activities bi-annually through a competitive application process. The awards are in the form of grants that the recipients administer in their local municipalities to serve low to moderate income homeowners who qualify for assistance.
