Press Release

Indianapolis, Ind. – Brent Keller, group manager for the Indianapolis Home Show, is pleased to announce that a new major annual show is coming to Lucas Oil Stadium in 2010 — the Indianapolis Home & Flower Show.

The show will be produced by Marketplace Events, the same company that produces the Indianapolis Home Show. The international exhibition company was selected by Lucas Oil Stadium to organize the Home & Flower Show as the first consumer show of its kind and the only annual spring home and flower show at the stadium.

The Indianapolis Home & Flower Show will take place Friday, March 5 through Sunday, March 7, 2010, offering exhibitors a high-quality 3-day show as an additional option to its companion show, the 10-day Indianapolis Home Show, the nation’s oldest and the Midwest’s largest home-focused extravaganza.

The Indianapolis Home Show will continue its tradition in 2010 of offering the best in home products, decorating, construction and remodeling ideas at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The show is the largest consumer home event in Indiana, attracting crowds of homeowners primarily interested in home improvements and renovations.

The Indianapolis Home & Flower Show will also attract crowds of homeowners — but those primarily interested in gardens and outdoor living. A large area for feature flowers and gardens will be the show’s centerpiece, which will be enhanced by the surroundings of Lucas Oil Stadium. Both shows will be endorsed by Marketplace Events’ Spokesperson Ty Pennington, host of ABC-TV’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

“We’re very excited about the announcement of the Indianapolis Home & Flower Show,” said Tom Baugh, CEO of Marketplace Events. “In tandem, our new family of shows will give exhibitors the best options for reaching the maximum number of homeowners in the Indianapolis market.”

“Our research indicates that with the present economic climate more people are putting their dollars and energies into their homes and gardens rather than expensive vacations,” Keller said. “Our new Indianapolis Home & Flower Show, along with the more than 80-year-old Indianapolis Home Show, will cater to Indianapolis area residents’ continuous desire to learn, compare and shop for products and services for their homes and gardens in two exciting venues. We’re especially excited to bring a show to the downtown Indianapolis community.”

Marketplace Events adds Indianapolis to its list of markets where it successfully produces multiple shows in a given year, including Toronto, Washington, DC, Jacksonville, Orlando, Salt Lake City, Calgary and Vancouver.
