Indiana's statewide technology initiative is launching a new effort designed to create more information technology companies to support the state's $69 billion health and life sciences sector. TechPoint says it is partnering with Ice Miller LLP and 30 leading information technology, health care and life sciences experts on the Advancing Life Sciences & Health Care Information Technology (ALHIT) initiative.

Ice Miller Partner Tom Walsh says the effort recognizes that growth in the state's health care, health care delivery and life sciences sectors will be through information technology.
He also says the initiative will also work to involve other sectors of the business community.
