Ground Breaking Set For Johnson County Armory

The Indiana National Guard will break ground on its new Armed Forces Reserve Center in Johnson County Friday morning. The $27 million armory will be the largest readiness center in the state and is being federally funded. Construction is expected to begin next month on the 169,000 square-foot facility and wrap up in April 2011.

The Adjutant General of Indiana as well as other delegates of the Indiana National Guard, retirees, legislators and the community will be gathering for the initial groundbreaking of the new Johnson County Armory. The event will be held Friday, September 25, 2009
at 9:30 a.m. EDT. The ground breaking will be held South of Early Lane on North Lovers Lane in Franklin, Indiana. To reach the site take I-65 to East State Road 44 East, make a left onto North Lovers Lane. The site will be on the east side of the road.
