A member of the Indiana University Athletics and Indiana Basketball halls of fame will emcee a panel discussion Tuesday in Indianapolis on how businesses can become more efficient in a challenging economy. Former NBA player-turned businessman Jon McGlocklin is being featured at the breakfast panel discussion, which will include a business investment expert, the Director of Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs and a quality improvement expert.

June 2, 2009 -- Reliable Water Services, which this May acquired Citizens Mechanical Services (CMS) Indiana’s largest provider of rental water heaters, invites Indianapolis business owners to a breakfast panel discussion entitled Growing Business and Becoming More Efficient in a Challenging Economy on Tuesday, June 16th at the Hilton Indianapolis North from 7:30 am to 9:00 am.
The event will be emceed by Jon McGlocklin, former NBA player for the Milwaukee Bucks and member of Indiana University’s Hall of Fame. Jon will share insights from both the basketball court and a successful business career including a partnership with Bando McGlocklin, a successful small business investment firm, and as president of Healy Manufacturing in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.
Jon will talk about teamwork and how to stay motivated during challenging times. Panel speakers will include:
o Business investment expert David Shryock will explain what investors are looking for in today’s economy when providing investment capital to businesses.
o J.C. Randolph, Director of Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs will discuss how energy choices can impact business growth.
o Garth Smitman, quality improvement expert with the American Society for Quality section in Indianapolis will discuss how simple process improvement steps can have a positive impact on the bottom line.
Rounding out the panel, a CPA will talk about current tax credits and rebates available to businesses and there will be time for a short Q/A.
