Meridiana Automotive closed its Huntington facility earlier this year, eliminating 186 jobs.

Michigan-based Meridian Automotive Systems Inc. has announced plans to lay off 198 workers at its plant in Shelbyville. In a filing with the state, the auto parts supplier says the layoffs have already begun and will be complete by the end of August. The company says the reductions are due to an unexpected loss of business from a major customer.
