Outgoing Conexus Indiana Chief Executive Officer Carol D'Amico says her new role will enable greater focus on a pressing need for the state: creating a qualified pool of talented technical workers. D'Amico says "when we come out of the recession, Indiana will be faced with a real challenge." She cites the state's aging work force and a changing economy demanding a more highly skilled workers. Conexus has announced that former Rolls-Royce Chief Operating Officer Steve Dwyer would become the organization's new CEO, while D'Amico will take on a dual role, spending time at both Conexus and the Indiana Department of Education.

D'Amico has served as president and CEO of Conexus Indiana, the state's advanced manufacturing and life sciences initiative, since 2007. In her new roles, she will focus on human capital needs and the Dream it, Do it program for Conexus and working with edcuators on curriculum issues at DOE. The changes take effect March 9.
