Press Release
Indianapolis, Ind. -- The well-known Caldwell VanRiper brand has returned to Indianapolis. Under terms of a recently completed transaction, MARC USA/Indianapolis will once again enjoy local ownership with legal rights to use the Caldwell VanRiper name.
Longtime Caldwell VanRiper veteran Paula MacVittie has assumed majority ownership of the firm that began in 1910. Caldwell VanRiper is the fifth oldest advertising agency in the U.S.
“We look forward to building on the Caldwell VanRiper reputation and are eager to refocus our efforts locally to once again establish strong community ties, grow with our existing clients and engage in new opportunities,” said Paula MacVittie, president and CEO of Caldwell VanRiper. “We have a great team of longtime Caldwell VanRiper veterans and new talent, all with extensive category expertise in building products, healthcare, finance, retail and economic development. Recession or not, we are poised for growth."
MacVittie stressed that the agency’s history was key to this transaction. “Caldwell VanRiper has such a rich history in Indianapolis and has worked with many of the city’s leading companies. We wanted to build on that success and – in partnership with our clients – define the future,” MacVittie said.
MacVittie had been serving as president/CEO of MARC USA/Indianapolis after coming out of retirement to return to the company earlier this year. She added, "As we began to look at our growth plan, we realized local ownership was essential. We now have flexibility around community involvement and philanthropic partnerships, the freedom to invest in our existing clients, and the opportunity to reach out to new clients--some of which may have been off limits because of conflicts with the larger MARC USA organization."
With supporting partner, Darlene Muncy, COO, the agency will again be a WBE and is proceeding with the certification process.
