The South Bend Chocolate Company this week will open one of the world's largest chocolate stores. A 7,000 square foot addition to its Chocolate Café in South Bend will open at noon Wednesday. The cafe is slightly larger than 10,000 square feet without the addition.

South Bend, IN ---The South Bend Chocolate Company is opening one of the world’s largest chocolate stores. At 12:00 p.m. on March 12, 2008, a 7,000 square foot addition will be opened to the public. “This expansion is the third one since the Chocolate Café opened in 1996,” said Mark Tarner, President of the South Bend Chocolate Company. “The Café is now slightly larger than 10,000 square feet."
The additional space will include a children’s play area called the PlayCafé, a card and classic candy store and seating for 120 customers.
Founded in 1991, The South Bend Chocolate Company now has over 20 stores and wholesales nationwide. The company has received many awards, including Indiana’s Business of the Year, three INC. Magazine Awards and an Ernst & Young Indiana Retail Business of the Year Award.
