Press Release

Indianapolis, Ind. -- Vyante, Inc. was recently awarded $100,000 for a grant proposal related to its online business intelligence service - ChatterSpike™. The National Science Foundation, as a participant in the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program, awarded the company with a Phase I grant.

The SBIR program is highly competitive and provides small businesses with initial funding for new, and typically high-risk, technologies. Each year, federal agencies spending more than $100 million annually for external research are required to reserve a portion of their external research funds for the SBIR program. Vyante received its SBIR grant from the National Science Foundation, which supports fundamental research and education in all non-medical fields of science and engineering.

Vyante was awarded the maximum Phase I grant. Phase I awards support exploration of the technical merit and feasibility of an idea. Upon successful completion of the Phase I feasibility project, companies seeking to commercialize their research are eligible to submit a Phase II grant proposal. During Phase II research and development work is performed to further evaluate commercialization potential of the technology. National Science Foundation SBIR Phase II grant awards provide $500,000 in additional funding toward commercialization of the technology.

ChatterSpike™ offers a solution to the problem many companies face, the inability to digest the immense quantity of data available online related to their company, products, and industry. This patent pending technology is an online service that analyzes information from the Internet across various content sources (such as news wires, search engines, websites, blogs, customer reviews, government reports, subscription content, industry research, etc.) on a daily basis and displays it on a consolidated dashboard illustrating the quantity of data and its variations over time. ChatterSpike™ provides a simplified way for users to review the underlying trends within the data available online as well as statistical correlations to relevant business metrics.

Vyante, Inc., established in 2005, is an innovative Indianapolis-based software firm focused on providing its customers with the tools needed to comprehend enormous quantities of electronic data and correlate it to their business operations. The Vyante management team consists of CEO Aaron Kopel who leads business operations and Benjamin Ranck who leads technology development and software engineering.
