Construction is underway on a new Nestlé plant in Anderson and officials say they will begin hiring more than 300 positions next week. Anderson Mayor Kevin Smith says informational meetings for those seeking employment will be held at the Wigwam in Anderson on June 8 and 9, but no hiring will be done at that time.

At the meetings, company officials will explain what kind of jobs are being offered and the benefits available. The company will have about seven types of jobs for the plant.
Officials say hiring will be done in five or six waves over the next year. The company says applications and hiring will be done through www.nestlejobs.com beginning June 8.
Nestlé expects to begin producing Coffeemate and Nesquik liquids beginning in the second quarter of 2008.
Smith says the city has enjoyed recent new company development and he says additional projects are planned for the future.
