Press Release

SANTA CLAUS, IN-----One of the nation’s most popular and longest-running game shows will feature a question about Holiday World on Wednesday’s show.

Or, rather, an answer.

On Valentine’s Day, the syndicated quiz show Jeopardy! will include a category named “Theme Park Fun.” This is “Teen Week” on Jeopardy, which has a weekly viewership of 37 million.

A researcher for Jeopardy! contacted Holiday World last June with questions about the park’s new Thanksgiving-themed section. The researcher called Holiday World on Monday with the news that a question on Wednesday’s show will feature Gobbler Getaway, the park’s turkey-themed interactive dark ride.

Jeopardy! airs at the following times on these area television stations:

Evansville, WFIE-TV 2:30 pm CST

Terre Haute, WTWO-TV 7:30 pm EST

Indianapolis, WTHR-TV 7:30 pm EST

Louisville, WLKY-TV 7:30 pm EST

This is at least the second time Holiday World has been an answer on Jeopardy! On June 6, 1994, host Alex Trebek read the $600 “answer” in the “Americana” category: “Holiday World is a theme park in this Indiana town that gets a lot of mail at Christmastime.”

The answer, of course, was “What is Santa Claus, Alex?”

Holiday World opens for the season on May 5, with the premiere of Turkey Whirl, a themed tilt-a-whirl ride; plus the Plymouth Rock Café; Splashin' Safari opens for the season on May 12 with the new Bakuli family water slide.
