Indianapolis-based Endangered Species Chocolate tells Inside INdiana Business that it has signed a deal with Target to sell its chocolate in 1,500 stores nationwide.

Chief Executive Officer Wayne Zink says five of its 3 oz. candy bars will be sold at ten of Target's cash registers in a premier top shelf location. The company is also developing a 5.25 oz. bag of 15 different multi-flavored treats for sale at Target.
The company says the deal will allow it to expand its operations in Indianapolis and add 12 new production workers and two administrative staff.
Endangered Species Chocolate, which already has its products in several organic stores and Kroger, says it plans to expand into other retail outlets and is currently in talks with Costco and Ralphs.
