Skillman tells Inside INdiana Business that Cole Hardwood in Logansport and Frank Miller Lumber Co. in Union City made sales while on the trip.
The Taiwanese Furniture Manufacturers Association is also planning to partner with the Indiana Hardwood Lumbermen's Association and will connect Indiana's hardwood producers with Taiwanese manufacturers. Skillman says the group also secured leads for pork, poultry, wine and organic products.
Organics are in big demand in Taiwan and Adam Moody, owner of Moody Meats in Ladoga, has been asked to speak in Taiwan next year on behalf of the Indiana organics industry.
Skillman says an exploratory trip to Vietnam is also generating interest.
Taiwan and Vietnam officials have also expressed interest in conducting trade missions here in Indiana.
Skillman tells Inside INdiana Business that an earlier agriculture trade mission the delegation made this year to South America is sparking interest from officials in Guatemala. She says the country is planning a trade mission in the future to Indiana.
