Today marks the beginning of a new era in corporate air travel in the Indianapolis area as Montgomery Aviation officially opens a new, state of the art terminal facility.

Montgomery Aviation and Indianapolis Executive Airport welcome corporate executives, officials from Boone and Hamilton counties and other dignitaries to an Open House Celebration.

The event will mark the formal dedication of a new corporate hangar, new terminal offices and lobby plus an all-weather jet canopy, the only one in the state of Indiana.

Interview opportunities will provide information on the dramatic growth of the facility, the economic impact of the airport on the surrounding communities and the services now offered nowhere else in the state of Indiana.

An Airport Revolution

Indianapolis Executive Airport, fourteen miles north of the Indiana capitol, has something few others have in the entire country: an all weather arrival/departure canopy.

The nearest one is in Bowling Green, Kentucky according to Dan Montgomery, president of Montgomery Aviation the airport’s Fixed Base Operator.

The new canopy is 33 feet high and 100 feet wide providing shelter from inclement weather for corporate jets of all sizes, their passengers and crew.

Today’s new terminal offers the amenities travelers and flight crews have asked for in addition to the all weather canopy, including: conference facilities, corporate offices, pilot lounge, wireless Internet connection and a luxurious welcome center for executive travelers.

The just completed two million dollar construction project also features a new half million dollar jet ramp, at additional cost, contributed by Hamilton County, the airport’s owner/operator.

The story of Indy Exec is one of truly impressive growth from a small country airport (Terry Airport) only six years ago with a few small planes and a glider club to the modern facility it is today.

Dan Montgomery is seeing a dream come true. Traffic and fuel sales have increased dramatically with growing numbers of corporate jet owners and pilots selecting Indy Exec for its geographic convenience and Montgomery Aviation’s unsurpassed service.
