The switch to Daylight Saving Time this Sunday could mean big financial losses for some Indianapolis bars and restaurants right at the height of the lucrative NCAA Men's Final Four celebrations.
The bars will be forced to close an hour early since the time change takes place at 2 a.m., when clocks spring forward to 3 a.m., the time when bars must close.
Indiana Licensed Beverage Association Executive Director Brad Klopfenstein says the association estimates bars and restaurants in central Indiana will lose about $250,000.
