Team Develops iPad-based Concussion Test
The grave danger of repeated head injuries has captured headlines at a frightening rate; in the National Football League, doctors point to a disease caused by repeated blows to the head as a factor in players' suicides. The best line of defense on any athletic field, says a team of researchers at the University of Notre Dame, is detecting a concussion immediately after it happens—just steps away from the playing field—and they've developed a technology that only requires a tablet or mobile device to tackle the problem of undetected injuries head-on.
