He was put up in a swanky New York City hotel near Times Square before his national television appearances on LIVE! with Kelly and CNN's Starting Point with Soledad O'Brien. It's not a day in the life of an A-list celebrity, but of math genius Chad Qian (and for the record, he beat both famous TV hosts in live math competitions). Qian, a 14 year-old from Carmel, can solve incredibly complex math problems in less than five seconds—without a calculator. And that's exactly what he did on the final question of the MATHCOUNTS National Competition to claim the title of National Math Champion.
