Indiana-led Study Aims for Safer Youth Football

Concern about concussions is one of the hottest issues in the National Football League, putting the league in hot water as some players sue for its failure to protect them from the violent head shots. Capturing far fewer headlines, but perhaps of even greater importance, is the danger of such impacts on the three-million children who play youth football—some starting as young as six years old. It's an issue two Indianapolis-based organizations are tackling head-on as USA Football and Datalys Center launch what they call a "first of its kind" study examining injuries in youth football.
