Columbus Mayor Fred Armstrong says more than 100 businesses in the city have been damaged or destroyed by last month's flooding. He says the city "looks OK from a distance, but it's not." Armstrong says the initial mess has been cleaned up and several public meetings are planned to provide recovery information for homeowners and businesses. He thinks it could be two years before the city fully recovers and the final damage cost is expected to be around half-a-billion dollars.

Lafayette-based Wabash National Corp. (NYSE: WNC) will switch to a four-day workweek on July 21. The company believes the change will help employees deal with rising fuel prices. The new schedule will remain in effect as long as production demands in the truck-trailer industry allow. Workers will adjust to 10-hour production shifts from Monday through Thursday instead of the current eight-hour days.

Agricultural equipment maker CTB, Inc. is upgrading its manufacturing operations in Milford and providing advanced training opportunities for nearly 350 of its workers over the next two years. Sixty additional employees are expected to be hired. Earlier this year CTB's completed its 75,000 square-foot expansion of its north central Indiana facilities. The company designs and manufactures a wide variety of systems and accessories for the poultry, pig, egg production and grain industries.

Dunkin' Donuts continues to build its presence in Indiana. The first of 20 new stores is opening in the Fort Wayne market next week. The additions will create 500 jobs in the community. The first store, located on Coldwater Road opens Wednesday, July 9. The second is scheduled to begin construction in late August. Dunkin' Donuts is expected to open 80 new restaurants in Indianapolis over the next six years.
