Julie Shewmaker has joined Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis as chief operating officer. She previously served as controller at Archdiocese of Indianapolis.

March 6, 2012 News Release Indianapolis - Julie Shewmaker, CPA, has joined Christian Theological Seminary (CTS) as Chief Operating Officer. Ms. Shewmaker’s responsibilities encompass all budgetary and financial operations at the seminary including managing endowment investments, capital planning and risk management. Ms. Shewmaker joins CTS from the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, where she served as controller for 11 years, leading the archdiocesan budgeting process for over 30 agencies and 150 parishes. Prior to her role with the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, Ms. Shewmaker served as a manager in the Assurance and Business Advisory Services practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLC, where she focused on manufacturing and not for profit clients. “Julie’s background in faith-based and non-profit financial management provides her with a unique perspective for managing the unique challenges associated with a non-profit enterprise funded through both gifts and programming,” said Matthew Myer Boulton, CTS president. Ms. Shewmaker is a member of the Indiana CPA Society and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She graduated magna cum laude from Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana. CTS is a fully accredited ecumenical seminary and is affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). It offers eight graduate-level degree programs, including theology, ministry and counseling, with specializations in ministries that emphasize the arts and programs for life-long learning.
