Lechleiter Reflects Back on More Than 30 Years at Lilly

Eli Lilly and Company Chief Executive Officer John Lechleiter joined the company in 1979 as a senior organic chemist in process research and development. He worked his way up in the company, taking roles in project management, regulatory affairs, product development, and pharma operations. In 2005, he was named president and chief operating officer and in 2008 was appointed chief executive officer.
