    Groundbreaking to Kick Off Bridge Project

    East Chicago Mayor Anthony Copeland will join community and business leaders Thursday afternoon to break ground on an operations office and maintenance facility to kick off the Cline Avenue Bridge Project. The new bridge that will replace one that was demolished in 2013.

    President Barack Obama next week will return to the first city he visited as president. Obama says he will visit Elkhart next Wednesday to discuss economic growth, saying, "The story of Elkhart's recovery is the story of America's recovery."

    The chief executive officer of an Elkhart manufacturer says, if industrial hemp was legal to grow in Indiana, it would create substantial savings in an industry where "pennies count." FlexForm Technologies uses non-woven natural fibers to produce components that ultimately become mats and panel products for the automotive and aerospace sectors.

    Wheeler Mission Ministries in Indianapolis says it will merge with Backstreet Missions in Bloomington. The combined organization will be named after Wheeler Mission. The merger takes effect Thursday.

    Jamar Cobb-Dennard has joined Emarsys in Indianapolis as an account executive. He previously served as principal of Indianapolis-based Hire Sales.

    DePauw Grad Finalist For NCAA Woman of The Year

    A recent DePauw University graduate is one of nine finalists for a major national award. Maggie MacPhail is on the short list for this year's NCAA Woman of the Year Award.
