Southern Indiana Battery Center Aims to Power 'Energy Revolution'

Industry is clamoring for more advanced energy storage solutions, driven by growing demand for electric vehicles, the implementation of smart power grid technologies, and a host of other needs for flexible energy storage. To take advantage of these trends while powering southern Indiana's economy, the Indiana-based Energy Systems Network (ESN) and several partners have established the Battery Innovation Center (BIC), a new non-profit initiative that will link battery manufacturers, government agencies and research labs, academia and Fortune 500 companies to accelerate the battery market.

Logistics Industry Given Boost in the 2013 Indiana General Assembly

Since the 2010 release of Phase I: A Plan for Indiana's Logistics Future by the Conexus Indiana Logistics Council, the Indiana General Assembly studied and discussed the innovative policy recommendations inside this plan, but up to this point had taken little action. 2013 ended this non-action and turned it into major action. Confucius once said, "It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop." Some of the recommendations that the General Assembly turned into reality this session are not only good for the logistics industry, but for all business and Hoosiers as well. The policies passed will help to create jobs, economic development investment and better infrastructure for our airports, railroads, roads and ports statewide.
