Purdue University's Technical Assistance Program (TAP) plans to equip 500 unemployed Hoosiers with some of the most demanded skills in today's manufacturing industry. Funded by the federal government, and free for displaced workers, the new training focuses on sustainable manufacturing practices—skills TAP leaders believe could jump start manufacturing careers for those looking for a reliable profession.

Since the 2010 release of Phase I: A Plan for Indiana's Logistics Future by the Conexus Indiana Logistics Council, the Indiana General Assembly studied and discussed the innovative policy recommendations inside this plan, but up to this point had taken little action. 2013 ended this non-action and turned it into major action. Confucius once said, "It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop." Some of the recommendations that the General Assembly turned into reality this session are not only good for the logistics industry, but for all business and Hoosiers as well. The policies passed will help to create jobs, economic development investment and better infrastructure for our airports, railroads, roads and ports statewide. | |
