In the fourth of our quarterly series on downtown Indianapolis, we get back to our roots and focus on the city's corporate base. It is a challenging time for businesses as the economy sets limits that did not exist just a few months ago. Some owntown companies are cutting jobs, like Clarian and the Indianapolis Star, but there are signs of growth. We're joined by Eli Lilly CEO John Lechleiter who reacts to the week's investor meeting in New York and the finalized acquisition of ImClone. Citizen's Gas has a new name and a new focus on technology to reach its customers. CEO of Citizen's Energy, Carey Lykins, is in studeio. Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard just returned from an economic development trip to Japan and China. He discusses the mission. And Throughout the year, we have seen how business, sports, quality of life and more make up a successful and vibrant downtown community. Tamara Zahn of Indianapolis Downtown Inc. will join Gerry Dick to wrap up the series and discuss what's next for downtown Indianapolis.

Downtown IN Depth Quarter 2


In the second quarter, Downtown IN Depth explored what bringing the 2012 Super Bowl to Indianapolis will mean to the city. We took a look at the preparations that are already underway for the big game and what the Indianapolis skyline will look like in 2012. National Football League owners voted to award the 2012 Super Bowl to Indianapolis over competing offers from Houston and the Phoenix suburb of Glendale, Arizona. The decision is expected to mean an economic bonanza for the Indianapolis region as well as global media attention.
